The island is very rainy

But by far not everything is sunshine on this island. For example, around the area of Wai’ale ‘ale is one of the rainiest areas in the world. Tourism has not yet arrived on Kauai as much as it has on the other islands, but that’s not a bad thing. If on Hawaii a real highlight would like to be experienced, then a visit on the island may not be missing however nevertheless. Because here is the only navigable river of Hawaii.

Does it rain on all islands always the same:
No, these are very different

Is there also tourism:
Yes, but not as much as in Oahu, for example

These are the attractions in Kauai

On Kauai there is also a so called Kilauea Point Lighthouse. It is a lighthouse, which was opened in 1913. Today, especially near it, all birds, such as albatrosses, or frigate birds, breed. You should not miss to see the Kawaikini. As you have already experienced, this is the highest point on the island.

You should also take a helicopter flight over the island. This is worthwhile in any case. You can see for example the Waimea Canyon and that is impressive. Very nice is also the 11 miles long hiking trail Kalalau Trail. Of course, the beaches are also a highlight, such as Polihale State Park, Shipwreck’s Beach or Anahola Beach. Spectacular photos can be taken from Wailua Falls.

It is even possible to fly to Canada. So there are very good flight connections to this island and of course Hawaiian Airlines has the best flight connections.

Our opinion

Even famous movies have been filmed on these islands, especially Kauai. No matter what you are looking for, coastal sections, waterfalls, natural spectacles, the island is versatile and offers something for every visitor. The resident rainforest is also something to behold. If you want to experience a truly lush rainforest, there is no better place in Hawaii than Kauai.

Since there is not always enough moisture to keep all the plants happy, many irrigation systems provide the necessary water. Incidentally, one of the most popular beaches on Kauai, Poipu Beach is only 20 minutes from the airport. You can spend a nice vacation on this island and this is how many imagine paradise for sure.
