Especially in the United Arab Emirates you will quickly notice that there are many water parks. The reason is of course that it is one of the hottest regions in the world. In the summer months, the temperatures can easily rise above 40 degrees in the shade. Then of course you need to cool down which is then very refreshing.
If you are on vacation in Abu Dhabi then you can visit Yas Waterworld. This is a beautiful water park that was opened in 2013. So this is state of the art and there are about 40 different attractions that you can do as a visitor. If the hotel in Abu Dhabi does not have a pool then this is also a popular destination in the city.

What attractions are there
In this water park will certainly not be bored and you should plan a whole day for the visit. The attractions are divided into different zones. For example, the Dolphin Zone, Al Wa`ha Zone, Marah Zone, Bandit Zone, Jebel Zone, Dhabi Zone or Falcon Zone. Furthermore, these always differ according to the type of intensity. That is, there are attractions for small children where it is then quite cozy.
But if you are looking for more action and adrenaline, there is of course also something for you. The first attraction is Yadi Yas. This is a kind of wadi where you can go down the whole river with a floating tire. If you are a bit braver you can try the Liwa Loop, Jebel Drop or the Bandit Bomber. So there is an attraction there for every taste and age.

Before visiting Yas Waterworld, you should of course find out what you have to pay for the entrance. For a day ticket adults have to pay 250 Dirham ( 60,10 Euro ). Somewhat more favorably it is for the children with 210 Dirham ( 50,45 Euro ). The ticket can be bought directly at the box office, or in our ticket store.
There you have the advantage that you do not have to stand in line because you have already bought the ticket. So you can go straight to the water park. For a family with children come there but easily once 200 Euros for the visit together. But it is a lot of fun and certainly you go there only once during the trip.

Opening hours
Every day of the week from Monday to Sunday, Yas Waterworld is open for visitors from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. However, sometimes there is Ladies Day or Ladies Night. This means of course that only women are allowed to enter the water park. For example, on Ladies Night the park closes at 5:00 PM for regular visitors. Then it opens again at 6:00 PM for women only and closes at 11:00 PM in the evening. So you should check the homepage for the current opening hours before visiting. But you can always go there. The only difference is if it closes earlier than usual.

In order to visit Yas Waterworld, you need to know exactly where it is. The water park is located on Yas Island where there are other attractions. If you have booked a hotel nearby you can take a cab from there. It doesn’t cost very much and it goes directly to the main entrance. You can also use the free Yas Express bus.
This bus goes to various stops on the island, such as Ferrari World. However, the buses only run at certain times. If you have a rental car, you can park it in the large parking garage. So there are several ways to get there. From the city center of Abu Dhabi, the water park is about 35 kilometers away and you need 30 to 45 minutes for the trip.

Of course you can also stay overnight in a nice hotel on Yas Island. From there you can get to the water park very quickly. Certainly the most spectacular hotel is the W Abu Dhabi Yas Island where you stay practically directly on the race track of the Yas Marina Circuit. This is of course very impressive. But there is a hotel for every budget. We always recommend to stay a few nights so you can see the numerous attractions of the island.

Are there also shopping facilities
On the area of the water park Yas Waterworld there are some stores where you can go shopping. Very nicely done is the Qaryat Al Jewana Souk where you can also buy souvenirs. For example, if you need a new swimsuit, you can get it at Sultan & Sons. Then there is a good candy store called Sultan’s Candy. So you can check this out too if you have enough time.

The catering is well taken care of for the visitors. There are numerous restaurants where you can get something to eat and drink. Smoking is not allowed in the water park. But there are a few smoking areas where it is allowed. You should always look at the signs where they are located. Furthermore it is not allowed to bring pets like cats or dogs into the park. As a visitor, you must always follow the rules so that you do not get into trouble.

Towels and changing room
It is possible to rent towels for 40 Dirham ( 9,62 Euro ). If you don’t want this you can buy a towel in one of the stores. Of course there are also changing rooms at Yas Waterworld. These are separated by women and men and are always neatly maintained. If you have valuables with you then there are lockers that you can rent for 42 Dirham ( 10,10 Euro ).

Visitors who need more space and privacy can rent a cabana. There are then four to six people enough space. However, this must be announced in advance and these are allocated according to availability.
